A strong signal for biodiversity and bee protection at Interzero

Interzero Bienenstock bei Bienenfink

Interzero is passionate about sustainability and environmental protection. As part of our comprehensive strategy to promote the circular economy, we have set ourselves the goal of supporting local bee populations. Our cooperation with organic beekeeper Georg Fink , known as Bienenfink, is an integral part of this commitment. This partnership allows us to directly contribute to the protection of bees, which play a crucial role in biodiversity . Over 50% of native plants rely on pollination by honey bees, and the approximately 600 wild bee species in Austria are essential for biodiversity.

The work of Bienenfink is therefore of great importance. It ensures the well-being of honey and wild bees and thus contributes to the preservation of the local ecosystem. Every flap of these small pollinators’ wings promotes the diversity of our environment and supports sustainable livelihoods . Our bee sponsorships and support of Bienenfink’s work not only strengthen local ecosystems, but also raise awareness of the central role of bees in global biodiversity. Interzero recognizes the indispensable importance of these little heroes, whose achievements influence not only our food chains, but also areas such as medicine and technology.

This recognition confirms our commitment to protecting bees and promoting biodiversity. We are proud that some of our employees are already active as hobby beekeepers, while others are now getting involved as ” bee hosts ” for the first time. Thomas Glatz, Mag., Patricia Hubauer, Bennet Sumerauer, Wolfgang Gross, Roman Chwatal and Julian Hafner have taken over bee hotels to create habitat for wild bees in their own gardens and to experience the diversity of nature on a daily basis. On June 12th, we had a special day at Interzero. Together with our dedicated employees, we took a trip to our partner Bienenfink. The highlight of the day was the presentation of the certificate that officially recognizes us as a “Bee-Friendly Company 2024” .

Our commitment to bee protection and biodiversity is not only a confirmation of our sustainable efforts, but also an example of our shared pursuit of a greener future. We would like to thank Georg Fink for the inspiring collaboration and the valuable insights into the world of bees.
