Our annual study “resources SAVED by recycling” shows: Recycling relieves the environment to a considerable extent – and makes an important contribution to securing raw materials. Valid figures are a key factor in demonstrating the benefits of recycling to support the circular transformation of the economy. In cooperation with Fraunhofer UMSICHT, we therefore prepare a comprehensive life cycle assessment every year. It makes it possible to precisely quantify the savings in resources and greenhouse gas emissions.

In 2024 alone, Interzero conserved over 8.09 million tons of primary raw materials in Germany, Austria, Poland, Italy and Slovenia by recycling around 1.94 million tons of recyclable materials. This corresponds to the weight of over four million SUVs. At the same time, Interzero’s recycling activities avoided a total of 1.04 million tons of greenhouse gas emissions. This is equivalent to the CO2 emissions caused by around 3.2 million one-way car journeys between Interzero’s Warsaw and Valencia sites.**
